Cooking Tip

Cinnamon

The delicate, fragrant, slightly sweet spice is now grown in most hot tropical regions around the world. Much of the cinnamon in the United States is actually cassia, a close relative to cinnamon. Check the packaging for clarity before purchase. Cinnamon is available in ground, quilling, and stick varieties.

Cooking Tip

Allspice

Allspice can be purchased in whole or ground form. The allspice berry is dried before being ground or packaged whole. Allspice gets its name from tasting like a number of other spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and pepper combined.
